A Talking Café brings people together for a chat and a cuppa. You can pop in for a quick chat or stay for a conversation with friendly people. Even a short conversation with another person can really brighten your day.
You can also chat to one of our team about other activities, support groups and services in your community. There is no need to register, just turn up on the day. There is no obligation to buy anything more than a cuppa in the café.

Yes, all Talking Cafes are FREE to attend. However, we do encourage you to buy a drink so that we support the cafes that provide such a warm welcome.
There is no need to book. We will welcome anyone who comes along as little or often as they please.
Talking Cafes are a partnership between Health Connections and the host cafe team. They are always led by a Community Connector trained by Health Connections who is supported by another Health Connections volunteer who has the skills to listen to you and chat.
Community Connectors help people find support, activities and information that benefit their health and wellbeing which is listed on the Health Connections Directory.
If you run a cafe and would like to hold some Talking Cafe sessions please email: hello@healthconnections.gg
The Health Connections team will support you to run your own Talking Cafe.

If you would like to come, but find it difficult to travel, please contact our travel team who can help provide transport to get you there!
Joining in is simple. Choose a venue you would like to attend and just turn up on the right time and day. There is no obligation to buy anything more than a cuppa in the café.
You can come along on your own, bring a friend or your partner. If you’re a carer bring the person you care for (or come on your own for a break). Grandparents and parents with babies, young people, older people and anyone in between are welcome!
If you have any questions about the Talking Cafes you can read the FAQs or contact us.
Coming to the Talking Café every week has been life-changing. I’ve made friends, shared stories, and finally feel part of the community again. The volunteers make it such a welcoming place.
